Not yet, not made jelly yet. We mostly make wine with it :D Have to admit the wine is gorgeous but we seem to have an overabundance of it at the moment.

Now that sounds even better than jelly!:D

I think I will have to take up wine making now.:)

  • Was at DD's by 06.40 re school run - it is her early start on Mondays. Then to A's to pick up some items for her and use up a £9 apg that expires tomorrow. Then library and now home and ready for breakfast! So it was a muggle shop, but will run it through later just in case.

Birds Eye brandy sauce in tetrapaks is now 10p, expiry date is Jan 2017.

It is worth it, they do make a lovely wine, and it is a lovely colour too :D

Only problem is we have made it 3 years on the trot, and we only drink about half a bottle of wine a week (unless we have visitors)

  • How's the robin doing Marmite? I've been watching the Norwich peregrines since it was posted on here a couple of weeks ago and I have just seen them both together for the first time.

Morning di.....Roberta and Robbie....are doing well....Its day 11 of incubation...Normally 12-14 days to hatch....I would imagine that from Wednesday on things might start happening.. its a busy period for the parents... 9-16 days until they fledge the nest....

I can then have my greenhouse back....:rotfl::rotfl:

  • Talking about marmite, I found some absolutely gorgeous fruit jelly in the back of my cupboard, I obviously made it some years ago and it had been forgotten about. It was lovely with some age on it but it seems to be the only one left :( If only I could actually tell if it was blackcurrant (most likely) or blackberry I would make some more. Problem is my blackcurrant bush was having problems so I removed all the dead wood. If is like a new bush but does not produce enough to make something like that at the moment. However, I feel some redcurrant jelly making coming on this year, and that will be placed at the back of the cupboard marked do not open for several years :D

Love homemade jams...Taste so different to shop bought with all those additives......I have a Plum tree which is in full blossom...Fingers crossed for a bumper crop:)

  • Also ran DD's online shop through apg and she now has £8.30 off her next one. No good comparisons, it was just M were a few pennies less here and there so 10% off all the comparables.

Two things came from this :
    1. She is grateful and now understands what she previously referred to as my 'obsession.' :rotfl:
    2. She would like me sometime soon to take over the bulk of her grocery budget. :T (I know she's a busy working mum but I have truly never seen such waste as goes on in their house. So now it ends. :T)
