While I am feeling brave posting,

Snap, I thought I was going to have to say goodbye to my beautiful 11 year old Lab on Wednesday. We even prepared the kids to say goodbye to her as we were going to the vets:(
She has arthritis in her legs, and just recently has been sick quite a lot and there has also been blood in it (and the other end too, sorry if TMI).
I was sobbing my heart out in the vets thinking "this is it" but they have given her a reprieve. They wanted to keep her in as there is obviously something wrong, what they don't know?. They didn't have a crate for her to sleep in, so they gave her some anti nausea and antacids and we have to take her back next week.
Anyway, what I am meaning is... I am very sorry for your loss. Losing a much loved family pet is devastating. Thinking of you x

:) ♥ When our lab got arthritis in her legs we took her for acupuncture & also gave her Green Lipped Mussel tablets

    Good morning all, happy Saturday.

Yesterday evening I watched my DS play football and it was howling wind and pouring out of the heavens, I get up this morning and there is a lovely, crisp frost.

Fillers need to be £10 to account for the BM? Or am I still way off in my understanding? :o:oSorry

and no branded stuff apart from what you are brand matching :)
Ts own reduced items are good fillers & don't compromise it now :)

I'm off to W this morning to use a conditional spend. I know it's been said that you can use the conditional spend before discounts, so can I ask, on the self serve tills do I need to scan the voucher before I press total? Thanks for your help :)

    :)

Lovely day - washing done :)

Poor Dilys had a tummy full of tumours :( We beat up ourselves thinking we missed any signs she was ill, but looking back she was as bright as a button up to 2 days ago.

:o This may sound daft but when ever I lose a pet I always gather some of their hairs up & seal them in an envelope (I used to sew them into the back of my cross stitches) so frantically tore around house yesterday trying to locate her distinctive fur.
Then I remembered she had got under the covers with me in bed in the morning & found some :T:T:T
I still have a bit of my Dilys forever ♥

We still do this. We lost our 9yr old springer to cancer three and a half years ago.

We were in Vegas for 10 days celebrating my OH retirement. Oscar was with our regular dog minder.

She contacted my eldest son to see if he would be home for the weekend as Oscar didn't appear well and she thought he may be happier at home over the weekend.

My son picked him up on the Thursday night. Took him to the vet on the Friday. Was asked to leave him overnight for more tests.

He was just in the door from leaving him a 15 min drive, when the vet phoned to say that Oscar wouldn't be coming home and would he like to return to be with Oscar when he was put to sleep.:(

We would never have left him to go on holiday if we thought he was ill.

Not something we wanted our boys 21 and 18 to deal with on their own either.

:j :j I've got blue tits in one of my nest boxes :j :j

Did I dream or did I read someone has nest boxes that don't get used by the birds? Was it Di?

Are they facing the right way? You need to sight them facing East, North or South East. Put them so the hole is on a clear flight path into the box.

Place them in a quiet part of the garden. I'm sure RSPB will have further tips :)

Good morning AJ yes it was me. To be honest we have them facing every direction.
We also have a house Martin box right under the eaves and have a little coal tit that roosts every night in there. It even sits peeping out of the hole.
When the house martins arrive they circle and circle our house almost touching the box and then nest in next doors eaves either side. At least I get to watch them all summer.
No birds seem to be scared in our garden yesterday we sat on the patio and the birds carried on coming to the feeders and the wood pigeons hoped on and off the bird table which was about four foot from where we were sat.
