Dreams Mattress return not exchange wanted.

Options
Hi all
We bought a Sealy mattress from dreams only delivered less than 2 weeks ago.
Already we have noticed obvious dips in the mattress where we lie and a central raised ridge in the middle. (Not comfortable when trying to cuddle).
I want to return it for a refund, but according to their website this is a natural settling in condition of modern mattresses and means the mattress is shaping to our body!
We will qualify for their 40day comfort exchange policy, but won't get a refund if the replacement mattress is cheaper.
How can I prove that the mattress is faulty to warrant a refund and not let them waffle on about it being what the mattress should be doing.

What type of mattress is it?

It's a pocket sprung with latex somewhere inside it. No memory foam involved. Paid over £1000 for it!

I'm in no way a bed/mattress expert, but I was under the impression its only foam mattresses that mould to your body contours. A pocket sprung should sink where pressure is applied but not elsewhere (due to the individual springs).

It may be worth speaking to them and seeing what they say. Or perhaps looking up the mattress model online and seeing if there are any other reviews complaining about the same thing.

I have a pocket sprung mattress with a latex top layer from Dreams (not Sealy though). Mine is about 3 years old and is still perfectly flat.

the resettlement process is the convenient way to deflect you from returning it.. you know if it is breaking already.. I have just gone through this with silentnight.. it was sagging drastically and visibly within 2 days, it was dipping, and within a week there were springs sticking up. I sent photos abut silentnight tried to fool me with the natural resettlement process. They hard sold me a pocket sprung instead of the miracoil one I wanted, and had had before, saying that pocket sprung springs never break. . I insisted they pick it up, they tried to hard sell me another pocket sprung, but I stood my ground and picked the orthopaedic miracoil one. They finally picked it up today, and gave me the new one, and already, I feel the quality difference of the ortho one..I'm not condemning pocket sprung, but yours and mine were obviously damaged from the get go. Stand your ground, pick a different one, read some reviews. I know it's hard to stand your ground.. remember they are sales people, they are trying to save the company money by not returning the defective one. Good luck!!
