That would be a terrible approach for a new business. Customer data is worth gold and needs to be kept secure. Also, we all expect a bank to keep our personal data absolutely secure. If they can't deploy a secure database for customer data, they shouldn't be trying to run a bank.

Why hold details on a enquiry ? costs money to hold, I would rather they spent the money on a secure database holding my cash.

i've not seen anyone with a code yet - their email says within a couple of weeks.

I'd guess they haven't sent any, they've just announced it on their Birthdate for PR purposes to generate more interest even though they're still not 100% ready.

I'm not surprised they haven't got a current account offering yet, fraud is so prevalent on digital applications they're obviously just testing the waters with their savings product.

I'm totally not convinced. IMO the mainstream banks are getting better all the time with app and online development. Just can't see ATOM competing with the big boys. I hope I'm wrong but a very slow start will just mean the big boys will advance their online offerings.
  • In my opinion Atom Bank needs to get back to banking basics rather than trying to look cool. Afrer messing about installing apps and trying to get a saver account open the system tells me I cannot be identified using their checks. One wonders exactly what checks they are using when Tesco Bank, Charter Savings Bank and Metro Bank all managed to identifiy me without any problems. Looks like a work in progress to me- and probably best avoided

LBG should make their Lloyds brand a online only operation, with Halifax in England and BOS in Scotland as high st retail, and pay better rates for Lloyds brand customers by having no high street presence in my opinion.

Would make more sense for Halifax to be used that way.
