This is probably such a strange question to ask, but since we have changed the bulb in our light it flashes on and off at regular intervals when dark. We have no idea why it is doing this and nothing is in front of the PIR...
Any ideas?

When something similar happen to mine, it stayed on 24/7 after a power cut, I was told to switch it off for a few hours then it would re-set its self. Had to turn it off at the fuse box.0

It could be still in test mode, sometimes PIR fittings have a test mode for you to tell that they are working. Does it still flash when it gets dark?I am a Mortgage Adviser

it must be a fault with the PIR, I know you only changed the lamp but even that could have done it, how old is the fitting?I am a Mortgage Adviser

I have put a sock over the PIR to see if it still has the same problem0

Try removing the bulb, turning it 180 degrees and reinserting it. Sometimes certain fittings require the bulb to be in a cetain way round to make the correct circuit, particually if they are LED's.0
