I closed the account down at £0 and moved to a joint account with my wife in halifax. That was the end of it, i never received any letters, any correspondence or ANYTHING in regards to this account until i checked online and seen the default notice with hoist portfolio. When i challenged them they weren't much help either only stating that the default was of the amount they were asking for. When i contacted santander they told me i had to deal with robinson way...This was in january, i have been given nothing to show why this account stands the way it does.

i want answers or i want it removed!!!!

You are going about it in completely the wrong way then.

See --> Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letter

Slight modification required, as you deny the debt and resultant default, not the existence of the account.

Writing letters and making demands for things they have no legal obligation to provide, is putting you up against a brick wall of you own making.

Dispute things correctly, and take it to the FOS etc if you get no-where is the right way.

Do you have any account statements showing the zero account balance when you closed the account?

Thanks very much for the reply and apologies for being snappy. I am all up for paying back a loan which i borrowed, i always have but having to pay for something that is unjust is just not right.

I will try this approach and hopefully force their hand, i am afraid of it being another 4/5 month brush off. Is there a way that i can force this or bring it to ahead?

    thanks

unfortunately i don't but i remember the day i went in and closed it (with my wife) but i kow that doesnt stand up in the court of law.

When i closed i thought that was it, it was signed off and hands shook.

    This is a lesson learned.

Santander would have contacted you by letter several times before passing any debt to Robinson Way. Did they have your correct address when you closed the account ?
