Zafira Exhaust Emissions Light
Hi,
I have a 2002 1.8 petrol Zafira.
A guy changed the water pump when he put it back together and started it up it would not idle properly and the exhaust emission/engine management light came on.
When he checked the timing again he was one tooth out on the timing belt.Having corrected that it still does not idle properly and the light is still on.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Will reading the ecu code help.
thanks in advance.

There is another posting on here by Dr Zonk about the same thing I would have a read of the replies. You do need to read the codes but I believe there are thousands. Again if you live in the West Midlands and PM me if you need a mechanic I am more than happy to recommend mine and give his number if you live anywhere near.0 -

I'd give it him back an tell him to sort it, seeing as the car was running fine before he did owt to it...0 -
you may find with the engine timing being out by even one tooth this could have been enough to have caused the exhaust gasses to have damaged a sensor in the exhaust i.e the lamda sensor.
but i do agree with harvey, this really should be the mechanics job to sort this out.
make sure he doesnt just remove the bulb!!!...work permit granted!0
