I am looking to leave BT as a home phone carrier, any advice on other carriers please.

Technically unless you go to Virgin it will not be possible to cut all ties to BT but you can pay the line rental to any other provider that uses a BT line and 9.9 times out of 10 keep your existing number. Depending on what you need the above link has current details.0 -
