Durable paint finish for walls

Hello, Mrs Happy Daddy sneaking on here. I am the Secretary of a local village hall and we are looking to redecorate. We have used standard emulsion in the past but is marks easily and cannot be cleaned down around light switches etc. Can anyone recommend a matt paint that will provide a more durable finish? Have done some research that suggests Johnstones Durable Acrylic Matt or Endura are good but have not come across them and I don't want to commit hall funds to something that does not do the job.

Wilko durable paint is very good. Just remember with a durable paint that some tend to form a skin, so take off any masking tape immediately or it will peel the edges of the paint off as you remove it.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I've heard Dulux diamond matt is good.0

An eggshells whilst strictly speaking aimed at wood and metal would provide a durable coat thats similar to a matt finish. Will make overpainting in normal emulsion very hard work but can scrub at it without causing much damage.
Dulux diamond is a durable paint. (i'd avoid the dulux endurance range which i think is the retail version of diamond, just seems a bit wishy washy to me and valspar is better imo)
Valspar premium is also very tough.
If youve not already open a trade account (do them at b&q but guess others will have them) for your village hall, should save a few pennies.0 -
Thanks Spadoosh - not heard of Valspar; will look into it0

I can actually recommend Valspar premium too. Used it in my daughters room and it's scrubbable.0

Youll get hit and miss reviews. Paints a very personal thing. They do a standard and premium versions. The premium one is the more hard wearing. Think its still only sold at B&Q. The trade prices are quite a bit better than retail and they normally have a brochure with a few money off vouchers to keep an eye out for.0
