Anybody know what “ not yet used “ means? Done my self assessment on the 6th and went straight to not yet used, hmrc made an adjustment on the 12th but status is still on “ not yet used” as of the 13th.

    It just means

that for some reason there are more credits to your SA account than HMRC can allocate to liabilities due at the moment.

It can happen if, for example, you had made payments on account (POA) based on the previous years liability, but when the year is updated to the actual liability from your return they were more than the POA due. HMRC will add a credit for repayment supplement on the overpayment to your account. If in the meantime you had paid the 1st POA for the next year in full then your SA account will be in credit for the supplement added.

It will get set against the next payment becoming due and if you are happy that the reason you are in credit is correct then you should adjust the next payment accordingly. Alternatively you could ask for it to be repaid if the amount were substantial.
  • lets hope they start doing some payments tomorrow. i dont no anyone who has had anything yet this year. does anybody no anyone who has had there money yet??:)
  • Still pending here, has been since the 6th. did mine at 3:10am haha...., have had mine for 2k+ on the 19th and 16th for the previous 2 years. So likely be this upcoming week. Also i just rely on my email to tell me as i have received an email through paperless every year the minute my payment has been issued.
