Paid for holiday with low cost holidays but informed hotel was priced wrong!

Hi

I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I booked a holiday yesterday evening to Dubai in July for 10 nights and I got an excellent deal for a five star hotel. I called them today to see if I could make an amendment only to be told that the price for the hotel was incorrect so they would cancel my booking with them and find me another one.

I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do as I thought that this would be classed as false advertisement and it's at no fault of my own.

Any advise would be great as they will be calling me back to discuss this further later on today. Many thanks in advance.

Posting in an appropriate forum might get you much better help - this one is solely for reporting bargains!

    Hi,

    I've had the same problem.

We got an excellent deal to New York - flights were discounted immensely.

We paid for the holiday and money is the process of leaving the account but I received a phonecall today saying that the price would either increase by £900 or we could receive a full refund as there was a temporary glitch on the website.

Surely there is something that can be done - like you said, false advertisement!

Why not post on an appropriate board then - Where you may actually get some help/advice?

the main flights board or consumer rights...not the one to report holiday bargains (although it sounds like you thought your original booking was a bargain :))

    Perhaps it's been moved.

    From the Thomas Cook website:-

Mistakes or computer errors occasionally occur, so if any price in our brochure, or on our website or booking system is obviously wrong, then any booking made, based on that price, won’t be valid, and we’ll be entitled to cancel it and give you a full refund.

I would imagine most holiday websites have a similar term.

    Not very fair is it.

They can cancel if they make a mistake but you cannot.
