Gumtree is a messers paradise, but at least it's free and there's no paypal.

Strangely enough, I've had five or six people buy things that were perfectly happy to pay courier fees, pay through PP and cover the fees. Two other buyers who made two-hour round trips to collect stuff and one who paid through bank transfer.

The most troublesome ones seem to be the "oh, I know where you are, is it OK if I pick it up on my way home from work" brigade.

Perhaps I should restrict my buyers to those who live at least 40 miles away and will pay courier fees!:rotfl:

Hey ho - looks as though the charity shop will be collecting again.

I would mention, I've had a similar experience on Preloved. Maybe it'll get better when the kids go back to school.

After being stood up on more than one occasion I now arrange buyers to come when I know I'm in anyway. If they really want it they will come when it suits both parties and not just them.

Tell us about it, had the same number enquiringly about an item I have for sale 3 times, eventually I told them that to them it was only available this weekend if they were serious about buying. Strangely never heard from them, number now blocked in my phone.
