Ok, before I get into just how stupid I've been, you need to know it was in the pursuit of wedding trainers which (obviously) the manufacturer had stopped producing. And it was 1am, and I'd been looking all night.
I was so overjoyed to see these shoes offered, I put in my credit card details without thinking. Then, noticed I didn't receive any order confirmation, had a look back at the site and it just seemed dodgy as hell: http://www.conssneaker.co.uk/converse-chuck-taylor-platform-plus-white-womens-high-trainers-p-93.html
A few days later, I receive an email (from a different email/URL entirely, saying these shoes are out of and can I choose another pair. I reply no, I want a refund. They reply that 'it is not good for you to cancle the order and get a refund.
because you will receive the refund after 28 business days.
would you pls reconsider to keep the order? '
I reply, give me the refund. Then, they send back this:
'because the transaction handling fee has been deducted automatically by the third party (payment channel) when you paid successfully,
then we only received about 85% from you.
it will be deducted again when we refund you,i am afraid that you will get about 70% back.
besides, you will receive the refund after 28 business days'
SMH. Needless to say, I'm calling my credit card company today, and have deffo learned my lesson.
Anyone else had similar?

Plenty on that website to suggest its a scam.
People are taken in by dodgy websites every day, so you are not alone.
Paying by credit card does at least mean it probably hasn't been a costly lesson.0 -

I always check returns policy and just a quick read of the wording in the FAQ would have me backing away from the website pretty hastily.
Good luck with the refund.0 -
Good luck too. Dare I ask , what are wedding trainers?0

Hi all, sorry - hadn't been receiving notifications!
Yes, I'll hopefully get through to the credit card people soon!
Wedding trainers are brilliant - they're essentially just trainers with a hidden wedge, so there's height, but comfy shoes too.
I wanted all white ones, so if they did show, it wouldn't look too bad....no comping wins as yet, but I live in hope. :money::j:eek:0 -
I wore wedding trainers under my dress ........... my wife wore ordinary shoes!
But on a serious note, the style of English, the grammar and the spelling errors should put you off that site straight away.0 -
It sounds like the company is breaking the law by not refunding you when they are unable to fulfil the order. It sounds like the goods may be counterfeit too, as they say this in their (interestingly-worded) FAQ:19. Q: Are your items all authentic ?
A: All products from our site are provided by official cooperation factory, the difference is that our pandora do not have the identity number which official store could provide and we could offer hongkong invoice only.
You might want to let the police and Trading Standards know. The site is registered to the person below. Perhaps they might like to answer a few questions from the authorities...?
