Proof of Death ?

My grandmother has died (I am a beneficiary) and 2 of her 3 named executors have renounced. The third died 4 years ago and had no family here and I don't know who this person was. I do know her full name, when she died and where she was living. I plan to apply to Administer the estate, what kind of proof do I need for the court, to substantiate this 3rd executors death? Many thanks in advance.

Easiest thing would be to get a copy of the death certificate.0

You can apply to the relevant Register Office for a copy of the death certificate or simply order it online https://www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificateAll posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0

Yes, I have that on order, hoping it's all I need. Since the will is not very specific regarding this person "my friend Joan Mills from Somewhere, BC", and the death cert shows the name and this person died at the same place, I wasn't sure if the Court would take that as enough proof it's the same person. I know it is, I hope they accept that. Thank you :-)0

As far as I can tell, you don't need to prove the Executor has died... as long as it is the truth

PA01 just asks you to name the Executors and place a reason code for why they are not applying (A if died before and B if died after the deceased).
It's possible they may later ask for proof, I suppose? A call to a probate office might confirm?0
