Is TSB Plus current account still the best option?

No, 6% regular savings accounts are better, although require more efforts.
Also, with £1000 p.m. it'll take you just two months to reach the maximum £2000 balance for TSB Plus.

It much depends what your objective it. If you are after interest: TSB Plus pays interest on up to £2,000.
