None.
There are no good companies.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
None of them. They all reduce the likelihood of success through a scattergun approach.
You friend should be able to buy a stamp at a local post office. Then he can just post the form himself, cutting out the middleman, improving his chances and saving himself half of any payout.0 -

Which is the shiniest turd? (sorry for regulars who have seen that several times)I know this can be done yourself but it is for my friend and he just wants to get a company involved.
So, he wants to put in a complaint using a more complicated method that takes longer, has a lower chance of success and, if successful, will likely cost hundreds or thousands of pounds.
you are asking on the wrong site. This is not moneywastedexpertI am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
wickedchef123. I am afraid this is not the site you are looking for. What you wanted was a site that perhaps undertook some reasoned debate and balance to the discussion. Instead you have posted on a forum that has long since been taken over by biased viewpoints and support of the financial advice community.
Not every company adopts a scattergun approach and if your friend wants to use a company then follow the guidance from Martin's guide on this site.
It's like trying to find a straight financial adviser, which one is the least crooked or incompetent, you have to do your research in all these matters0 -
Note that addedvaluebob is a champion for claims companies. So bias from him is normal.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). It is no secret that this website and (99% of) the posters on this forum think that Claims Management Companies are a waste of money.
There will never be a "balanced" debate about this, mainly because the only individuals who post in favour of the Claims Companies have a vested interest in them or, worse, are merely Spambots.0 -
Ring the Financial Ombudsman Service free on 0800 023 4567.
They will take down details and write to the company on your behalf to get the complaint moving.
If you do not get a satisfactory response within 8 weeks you can go back to the Financial Ombudsman Service - again free of charge.
So why pay a claims company to do it?0 -

I know, we're terrible aren't we?
Advising people that they can do it themselves, for free, which is so totally biased agaisnt all those poor claims companies that make exactly the same complaint that anyone can, and they have to charge at least 30% to cover the cost off all that printer ink and stamps.....
I don't know why we would do that.......Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
and completely ignoring those people who genuinely can't do it for themselves because of a lack of knowledge/confidence/understanding. No I don't think everybody should pay 30% to a claims company any more than I think someone should pay £500 to paint your room but in the heyday of the endowment scandal Which put forward 'tables' of the top endowments (not recommendations) that many people followed and lost money. No comeback on Which because it did not give advice
It is the same here you are too busy banging your own drum to think outside the box and consider
If someone genuinely needs help, because of their lack of knowledge, confidence or understanding............what happens to them
Answer they are probably on their own and it is their own fault for being too dumb in the first place and will be ridiculed and lambasted by the regular cabal for thinking otherwise0 -
as I have already said:addedvaluebob wrote: »and completely ignoring those people who genuinely can't do it for themselves because of a lack of knowledge/confidence/understanding.
