Got Hair Dye on my Face - Help!

I have had my hair dyed today and a streak of hair was lying against my face. I didn't notice as I sat reading a magazine and no matter what I rub on it, it isn't coming off. Whenever Ive had a slight blotch of this on my skin before it hasn't stayed on my skin for long but this is a long streak on my cheek! Im considering bleach but is there anything else I can try?

Disgusting I know but a friend of mine swears by cigarette ash!
  • have u tried nail varnish remover?ive used that before!
  • a hairdresser told me that perming solution gets dye off. i usually end up covered in it (as does my bathroom!) and i use neat shampoo on a cloth or cotton wool.

Have you got any Head & Shoulders shampoo? You could try using that, as I'm sure I read somewhere that it tends to lift dye out of hair, so maybe it'll work on your face. Otherwise, maybe a facial exfoliator would work or possibly one of those tan corrector wipe things if you've got one.

Just googled "removing hair dye from skin" and found that toothpaste was one solution. Worth a try I suppose! Good luck
  • hi i know it sound a bit silly but if you try rubbing a bit more dye in ,but dont let it dry then wipe over the top with cotton wool and water that should lift it off,if not hairspray works too ,thats what i was told by a hairdressing friend and it worked for me

oops great minds think alike eh kp dorset we both posted same thing at the same time
  • The way to get rid of hair dye stains is, apparently, hair dye. Do you have any left in the packet/dustbin?
  • i was told by a L'Oreal cust adv (after the gloves had little pin p***k holes in the thumbs!) to use alcoholic spirits, i always stick to the vodka as it doesn't smell !!

My new hairdresser also told me that the dye itself will rub off any colour that has stryayed !

I've used baby lotion in the past and that worked.
  • It doesn't help after the event but in the future it might be worth rubbing vaseline or another barrier around the hair line or where splashes occur to protect the skin from staining.
    Irony.

Any facial moisturiser should work! Does with me anyway!
