Waiting on an offer from Aldermore

Hi All

Just looking for a bit of advice.

We are FTB and through discussion with our Mortgage Advisor decided to apply with Aldermore.

We got DIP on Friday 25 March 2016.

Full application was made on 29 March 2016

31 March - Aldermore came back looking for my P60

Friday 1 April received a direct debit mandate from Aldermore to set up mortgate payment.

We havent had a mortgate offer back from Aldermore yet - was just wondering if this is normal to get the direct debit mandate through before an offer? Is this good news? As you can imainge I am stressed with it all as we are due to get our keys on 22 April 2016.

Ps - we are in Scotland so dont require valuation.

Speak to your advisor Jillian, they should be able to guide you. Or contact Aldermore and ask - 0333 321 1000

Thank you - advisor had said it all looks fine and is progressing but he also told us that when we applied to Accord and then were declined due to our internal scoring!

Might try and just phone them myself - I am impatient!

    thanks for your reply

Dont call them direct, you risk causing more harm than good.
The P60 would have been requested on initial application.

I use Aldermore a lot and was in their offices last week. If you have passed the initial DIP it is very likely you will get the mortgage as they do not credit score.

The application gets looked at within 24 hours, it then gets looked at again a few days later properly and if all is ok they instruct the valuation.

It will probably be around Thursday before you hear anything, before then it will just be sat in a queue.

That is utter nonsense, how can a client calling direct risk causing more harm than good? That sounds like the advice of a lazy advisor imho.

ACG is a mortgage adviser whereas you are an underwriter cahillh81.

Two different sides of the fence with different experiences and views on the mortgage process I expect.

Why would me suggesting a client not call be lazy? If anything that shows I am proactive as I do not have clients needing to call the lender directly to clarify the next steps and where things are up to.

The client may say something that the lender inteprates differently and so then gets noted on the file and causes issues down the line.

We are 2 different sides of the same coin. If you are indeed an underwriter I have come across lazy ones of those, not really with Aldermore who I do quite like but at a few lenders. Lets bang out an email rather than picking up the phone or even better, lets bang out an email saying we tried to call, when your phone has been there with nobody on it all day so you know its a lie.

I do not doubt there are brokers who are useless and if I found out my clients felt the need to call the lender directly I would feel like I have let the side down a little.

Thats who it was aimed at.
I rarely use them but when I do they never fail to catch me out with their 15 underwriter per case.

  • Hi All

Had further communication with Aldermore and yesterday we got notification that they have assessed and verified all our info however they need my partners accounts signed by his accountant which we got arranged and sent back to them yesterday.

Any idea when we should receive a further update and hopefully a mortgage offer?
