I have been making token payments towards my balance as I am in dire financial situation, they sent me a letter that they will either pass onto a debt collection agency or court action.
which one do they normally go for?

How much do you owe and have you entered into a payment plan and stuck to it?
Is this your only debt?
If not go and see a debt charity.
Legal action is a last resort.0 -

no, i owe about 16K on 5 credit cards I am making token payments and have contacted them by letter and email as I have anxiety. Will they take me to court or just pass onto a debt collection agency?0

Whichever they feel will get their money back. A DCA would be more common.0
