Small areas plastered and painted

We are looking to have our landing ceiling skimmed (currently Artex, small house therefore small landing) and painted, plus the walls prepped and painted, and while they're at it they can gloss the bannisters too.

In addition we need the underside of the stairs plasterboarded over (the stairs are open plan to the room so I'm talking about the diagonal bit directly underneath the actual steps) and painted.

Quoted £1095 including all labour, materials and tax (unsure if VAT company or not).

This is less than our first quote which was ridiculously high, but still higher than I thought it might be. I was thinking maybe £700, they're only small areas. Is it me or the quote that's unreasonable?

I won't comment on the price per say, How ever with regard plastering small is not necessarily cheaper than big. Plaster takes X time whether it is 2 or 20m2 .

He can't plaster and paint on the same day.Seems reasonable even if it was a Wendy house.Bannisters painting is the Devils work.
I take it the plasterboard bit is being taped and skimmed.
