Wrong swift code: Both Skrill and my local bank told me that they are unable to help

Hi everyone,
On 18th Feb 16' I made a withdrawal from my Skrill account and it was suppose to go to my CIMB account. But 2 weeks later I still didn't receive it and realized that I had accidentally copied and pasted Citibanks' swift code instead...

I emailed Skrill but they asked me to contact my local bank. I then called my local CIMB bank but they told me that Skrill should be the one to resolve this issue so I emailed Skrill again.

No respond from Skrill for almost a month......then round last week Skrill emailed me saying they were unable to locate a return for my withdrawal and that I should ask my bank to provide a swift message should they have received my funds but returned it due to incorrect details.
So I quickly contacted CIMB but they are just being very unhelpful and all they could say is :"We would advice you to cancel or recall the fund by contact the sender bank."

I am really helpless as you can see both side is denying me and just pushing me here and there...would really appreciate it if any of you guys who have encountered situation like this before are willing give me some advise on this. And one more question, since I entered Citibanks' swift code instead of Cimb's will the money go to Citibank or Cimb?

Thanks a lot~~~

Ps I am withdrawing from Skrill to my malaysian Cimb bank account...

CIMB have had nothing to do with the transfer and won't be able to help. Skrill are the ones who should be chasing for return of the funds.

You presumably have no relationship with Citibank so they won't be able to help.

OP are you in UK at all - links to CIMB suggests a bank abroad?

UK banks and transfers within do not use swift codes but sort codes and account numbers.

This is a UK site we have no knowledge of Malaysian banking rules/laws.
Perhaps there is an equivalent site in your country to MSE?

Aren't references to CIMB a red herring?

It appears the money was incorrectly transferred from the OP's Skrill account to Citibank. Presumably it's sat in a Citibank account somewhere and went nowhere near CIMB.

I think only Skrill can help trace and retrieve the payment.

    Skrll is a UK company.

CHAPS use sort codes and account numbers in UK - international payments use Swift
