live loans are as you said up and running, if someone wants to sell part of their live loan then it becomes available and you can try to buy that loan, pipeline loans are those that are expected in the future but they dont always make it through the pipeline.
in the pipeline you can offer to prefund the loan (you still dont have to pay), you set the maximum amount you would want to lend to that individual loan or set a default loan level, you dont always get the full amount you prefund for but you will get a share of the loan. SS will email you the day before a loan goes live and let you know to set your prefund level for that loan. hope that all makes sense.
  • Available loans are the loans that are available to invest in. Ie someone is currently trying to sell their holding or it went live and the supply was greater than the demand.

Live loans are loans that have been made available and have not completed yet. So just a list of all loans that could be invested in, if someone was prepared to sell. When the loan goes full term, is not extended and is repaid ... It will be removed from the list.

Pipeline are the ones that could be made available soon but are currently neither live or available. You can set up a prefunding amount on these loans so when they are made live you will get some money invested.

You can use the live list to get an idea of how many loans may be available over a year to work out where you are most likely to be for total investments, if you were to invest in all pipeline loans.

Last time I checked it was about 4 loans a month that were being made available.

So say you had £200 a month to invest... You would prefund £100 and then immediately sell down to £50 4 times. Or top load the first loan with £200, so to get invested faster, and then sell down that loan part each time by £50 along with anything over £50 on the new loan part.

Always try to prefund in a loan you like. Some sell out immediately. A £6m loan will be easier to get into later through the secondary market than a £500k loan obviously.
