Co-op energy are totally incompetent and should have their licence to sell energy revoked. You only have to look at the Co-op bank and Co-op mobile to see that they are absolutely useless.
Complain but don't expect an early resolution of your problem - I know customers who have been trying to leave them since Nov 2015. If you complain now after 8 weeks you can go to the ombudsman.0 -
Hi
Had my switch from Co-op to nPower stopped by Co-op because I have an £86 balance owed on my electricity account.
I pay direct debit - never missed a payment.
Can they do this?
Cheers
Suppliers may object to a switch application if you are currently in debt to that supplier.
But ist doesn't sound as though you are in debt.
A debt is not a debt unless it remains unpaid for at least 28 days after it has been formally demanded (e.g. billed)
You don't usually get any bills if paying monthly (do not confuse with statements which the supplier may provide monthly or quarterly)
Have you tried contacting the supplier to hear their side of the story?0 -
Thanks. They just said I needed to pay before they would take the block off.
