Holiday for family of 6

It's been 13 years since We went abroad. This year hubby and I turned 40, our 4 children are growing up fast (14,11,8,8) and we would love to take them on a holiday abroad as 3have never been on a plane and the 4th was too young to remember!

Ideally we would love to go in 2017 or 2018pretty flexible on where as long as there are stuff for the children ie a swimming pool. Money is naturally v v tight and having 6 of us makes it hard to find a hotel suitable (hence the years holiday in the uk in caravan parks!!)

Would love any large family holiday pointers or tips of places we could save Up to try to go to or good hotels in holiday areas. We can fly from London or Bournemouth/Southampton

Thanks for any help you can offer

Recently been recomended a great web site called holiday pirates . They have some incredible deals, not too sure how far in advance you can book, think most are last minute.
Good luck with getting the family holiday sorted and the kids on their first flights

We took our family of seven to Orlando couple of years ago which at just over £6000 is probably too expensive. I'm posting this as I was unaware that children 12 + travel at full fare so this should help with your choice of destination.

Eurocamp (and others) have all sorts of options in France, Italy, Spain etc.

Fly into somewhere like Girona with Ryanair and hire an MPV or get a transfer to the resort, should work out quite cheap
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

Self catering on the Costa Brava or Dorada sounds like it would suit you with cheap flights on Ryanair to Girona, Barcelona or Reus.

If the USA interests you then you can save a lot of money by staying in motels instead of hotels, visiting national parks instead of theme parks, and avoiding expensive restaurants.

But the airfare would be a big cost, plus you'd need to rent a large vehicle and you'd need at least two motel rooms.

Problem reporting a post then quoting it is that even when the original spam post has been removed the quote still remains.

If you just want ideas then that's fine but I wouldn't think of booking so early.

What I'd do is open an account and squirrel away all the money you can then when it's time to book you'll have the cash ready. You'll also have to pay for all those passports!

Turkey is excellent and travel there is safe at the moment but who knows nearer the time. I've flown from Bournemouth to Majorca on a package which was excellent but you can sometimes pay more for local airports. You need to weigh up travel/parking against the flight costs.

We have stayed here and told friends who all agreed on decent accommodation at reasonable price, facilities on site plus short walk to sandy beach.
