Notification of state pension entitlement frm April 2016

My new entitlement (from April 2016) shows basic State Pension £89.48; pre 97 Additional State Pension £26.27: Total: £115.75. Elsewhere it seems this should be £115.95. I have been notified that the total payment is £118.92 pw.

Does this affect the other figures - Graduated Retirement Benefit £2.92; and Age addition £0.25?

If so should I query these amounts?

    115.75 + 0.25 + 2.92 = 118.92

Odd innit! I would say if you are expecting £115.75, don't accept a penny more!

    Cheers fj

What I asked is why the basic pension figure I have been notified is £115.75 - not £115.95. If the latter figure, won't this increase the other two figures to give me an entitlement of £119 pw?

Hope this clarifies what I expected. I add that I have had 43 years of NI contributions. I only want confirmation of the above before I approach the Pensions dept.

Is there also a COD figure which reduces the Additional Pension (AP) giving a payable AP figure?

This is an uprating notification giving the new rates for 2016 / 2017?

Are you actually expecting AP and GRAD to be increased as well as the Basic? The basic is increased by the "Triple Lock", the higher of inflation, earnings and 2.5%. All the other components are only increase by CPI and for this year the CPL rate is zero so the payable amounts stay the same.

I am asking why the basic pension uprated is less than £115.75? I have no idea how these figures are arrived at so I asked whether the AP might be increased as well, all of which MAY give me a total £119 pw. As for the last figure: £0.25 pw! this is when I turned 80 - a paltry figure indeed.

    You said
    shows basic State Pension £89.48
This is the only part of your pension that increases this year. The basic pension increases by 2.9% so the £89.48 after the increase is arrived at by taking the original basic pension amount and multiplying it by 1.029. There may be odd pennies rounding.

Non of the other components increase.

Perhaps you need to layout all of the components that makes this up and what you think they should be?
I am asking why the basic pension uprated is less than £115.75?
If you are really asking why you arent getting the full basic pension, presumably you never have? How many years of NI contributions did you have before you reached State Pension age?

Just a correction of my figures.."is less than £115.95" and whether the AP figure might also rise to give me £119 pw.

If you truly have 43 years contributions you should have the full basic pension or very close to it depending on when you reached SPa.

So what year did you reach state pension age (65 for males, 60 - 63 for women depending on age).

What is the uprated figure for "Basic Pension" on your notification. Is it £89.48, £115.95 or some other figure?

Thanks greenglide Your response -"None of the other components increase" does answer my query.

I have a letter dated November 1999 from the then Dept of Social Security that my working life covered 44 years and that my pension entitlement was uprated to 75% (to include my overseas employment in Australia). Till now, I have relied on the Pension Department for its figures.
