Self-employment & tax credits

Hi

I'm just about to become self-employed. My earnings for the financial year so far are around £13k and I'm receving tax credit. As my business won't make a profit this financial year, I'm not sure:
  • whether to draw a minimal wage (c. £100/week) or not
  • whether to pay my childcare as a tax-free benefit or to see if working tax credit will pay my childcare costs
I've used some of the Tax Credit calculators but my previosu earned income for this financial year is really complicating things. I have posted this on the Tax Credits board as well - can anyone help?
