Hello clever peeps,
Is there a quick and easy way to transfer contacts, including multiple numbers, from a Samsung Galaxy SII to a J5?
I exported all my contacts to the SIM but on opening in the J5 I only have the first number for some contacts that have multiple numbers.
I tried updating the Android system on the SII to allow NCF (? can't remember the exact abbreviation) transfer where you place them back to back, but SII is not compatible.
I tried downloading Samsung Smart Switch but can't on the SII again.
And on the J5 I can't find a way of adding more than one number to a contact e.g. a home and mobile.
Took me hours to Bluetooth pics from SII to J5 as I couldn't figure out a quick way. And none of my SMS conversations have transferred (not the end of the world I suppose).
Thank you muchly.
Jo.

You should never need to transfer contacts manually. The days of moving your contacts via the SIM are old school and not really useful any more.
Your old phone will have been tied to a Google account and as long as it was set to sync it will have uploaded them to that Google account.
Then when you associate you new J5 with the same Google account and set it to sync all your contacts will migrate to the new phone.
first of all I would get on a PC and log into the Google account you used on your old phone, find 'Contacts' in the Google pull down menu.
Hopefully all your old contacts are there. If not you need to go back to your old phone and set it to sync.
If they are there you just need to setup your new phone to the same Google account and set it up to sync.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0 -
Thank you Sillygoose. I'll look at that.If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0

I thought the C meant Communications, but yes ... that's what OP meant.0
