Cleethorpes or Mablethorpe?

Torn between Cleethorpes and Mablethorpe for a cheap day out with friends.

Which is the cheapest for parking? (not parallel, but a real car park, I can't parallel park to save my life)

Which has more things to do at the best value?

Which has the best pubs?

I've never been to either so which is nicer too? Everywhere just looks grubby on Google street view.

I live in Cleethorpes and went for a short break to Mablethorpe last year. I would say that Cleethorpes has more things to do, but Mablethorpe is cheaper.

You can park for free in both places, if you are happy to walk a block or two to the beach. The Queens Park in Mablethorpe has the cheapest Crazy Golf I've ever seen! We had a great time playing games on the beach, crazy gold, they also had cheap pedalos and a paddling pool - here's a link http://www.mablethorpe.info/queens-park

Cleethorpes is a larger resort, and so has more going on, lazer quest, donkey rides, more golf lol, a long beach and promenade, boating lake, wildlife areas, cinema etc.

Of the two, Clee definitely has the best pubs and places to eat/drink, several trendy cocktail bars near the seafront and the most bars per square mile in the uk (or at least it used to have). It also has a very busy nightlife, where as Mablethorpe was like tumbleweed...

I suppose it depends on what you are looking for, if you're after a cheap family day out down the beach, then Mablethorpe will be fine. If your're after a more adult day out, I think Cleethorpes would suit better.
