Removing the back door or not?

    I've done it in a similar situation, it worked perfectly well.

    Just some thoughts but if you read about how Victorian terraces were actually used originally, then the back room that most people call a kitchen was never originally a kitchen. It was a scullery, used for cleaning, washing etc. The proper kitchen was actually the back room.

    I think that original design makes so much sense, stick all the bulky and noisy appliances and cupboards in the scullery, then have the back room as a spacious kitchen with cooker, decent sized table, and with the appliances out of the way it become a nice living space.
  • That is a nice idea but I don't actually have the money to do that:( Also, I like a large lounge so I'm just looking for a way to maximise kitchen space without compromising access to the garden.
