Go easy with mocking Geordies there are a lot of us on the forum

re Gazza although he was the most naturally gifted player too come out of the north east ever the blokes a pratt. Most geordies you will find are ashamed of the bloke

re Capital One could you not switch too a different credit card provider ie too one uk based. I never use call centres i manage everything online is that not an option.

As posted above I'd imagine Capital One are cutting costs.

Their range of credit cards (for personal customers) is down to two, now, I'm sure they used to have a broader range than that?

I also imagine in time to come they'll end up leaving the UK market altogether.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

The problem I have with the use of cheap labour abroad by banks is that it changes the equation of what they think should require a call to customer services and what can be achieved online. The bank sees its cost of labour go down, it decides it still makes sense to use humans to perform certain tasks - ignoring the fact that for the customer, the equation hasn't changed - our time is worth just as much as it was before and our willingness or desire to phone call centres is unaltered.

I don't know about Capital One, but HSBC seem to require a phone call for mundane tasks which other banks automate - either through an automated phone service or online. Fraud prevention involves a person ringing me up to tell me they're about a play an automated message with a number I must phone back to talk to another person who reads back the transactions to me. Banks with UK call centres automate this so you only talk to a real person if there's actually been fraud.
This is everybody's fault but mine.

maybe you should go and have your ears tested if you cant understand someone from another country, but then a hearing aid wont cure ignorance.
