I still have one of both them in a drawer full of personal effects. Bright lime green
Had to pay my fuel on my personal current account and transfer from my business account as they issued Electron with business accounts and late night driving home I could not get petrol at self service, what a royal pain in the bottom it was :rotfl:
They purple cards were a nightmare, had a savings account with one too, memories... (thankfully) you gave me a laugh for a split second
thats part of what would bother me, where I work we have to pay our expenses and claim them back if we go away, an electron or similar would be a nightmare.Who remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?0 -

Oh yeah I had a yellow aswell, my other purple was a second basic current account they gave to not credit worthy people I wanted for taking on nights out, in youth I would get trollied and lose my Green cards every few months :rotfl:
The ladies in branch would laugh when I said I had lost my visa debit again "drunk?" would come out in laughter haha, good days.
Too much cash too young lol
I remember Asda didnt accept them at all to start with and I had to detour 3 miles en route home at 1am to get shopping at Tesco if I had lost a Lime green one AGAIN as I was working 70-90 hour weeks and was a night shopper on my minimum 25 mile drive home from Asda.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

the numbers used to scratch off and once your signature strip wore off (which didnt take long as atms used to ruin them) or the black strip got ever so slightly damaged, they were a nightmare.
i remember having to check with shops if they accepted electron cards were accepted (they usually weren't) before i shopped there
They were still issuing them in 2011 when I left.
I could never work it out, they gave me one with my 123 account, yet a family member on a everyday account got a full debit card.:mad:0 -
Do Santander still issue those flat cards, dreadful things.
Yes they do, however these are for the 'basic account', top-up debit cards for those that need extra control over their money. (mainly intended for those with low credit scores or young people I would guess) as they don't allow you to go overdrawn.#141 - Save £3k in 2016 challenge - #141

They looked cheap, the numbers came off so you could not use the thing, horrible.NectarCollector wrote: »Yes they do, however these are for the 'basic account', top-up debit cards for those that need extra control over their money.
In fact, embossed cards were intended for manual processing by imprinting, but this method died decades ago.0 -
You need the numbers for online payments. I have a photo of mine with all the numbers faded, can't work out how to upload it.0
-
For online payments I drag&drop the numbers from a Word file.
As an extra advantage, this beats the basic keyloggers.0 -
That is an option, but I hope your PC in encrypted.0

Unembossed cards do have a advantage, you can get more in your wallet purse slots.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0
