Latest late delivery defect

Received another today, despite feedback saying fast delivery

'Reached out' to my buyer to ask if there was a problem and got the reply. "EBay asked if it arrived on Monday and I said no as it arrived Tuesday. I was really pleased it did as I was out on Monday "

Will phone EBay tomorrow. I know it's pointless as they will just keep repeating the send signed for excuse, but it might make me feel a bit better

I was going to ask about this, I ordered some stuff a few days ago, stuff arriving daily, someone here every day so no issues when they arrive. Not in a rush for anything.

One item was estimated to arrived on Thursday and it arrived today. Gone to leave feedback and it asked if it arrived by Thursday. I thought no it didnt even though stuff i ordered on the same day had already arrived.

My question was going to be..
Do i select no it didnt or just leave it..

I was not sure if a seller got a black mark for not getting it to me on their estimated time, especially as it made no difference if it arrived Thursday or Today.

Seems like a silly question for most buyers.

Yes, the seller gets a black mark as EBay assume that it wasn't posted on time. Top rated sellers are allowed 4% defect rate and once past that point they lose their top rated status, fee discounts and placement in listings so it is crucial that these defects are kept to a minimum


I've received another today on a different account and it looks like second class is taking about five days so unless I start giving free first class post I will be losing my TRS shortly.

What is the estimated delivery dates? Just checked the items i bought last week.

Bought on the 29th, Both economy delivery one says 48h and the other 2nd class. 48hr shows delivery Thursday and the 2nd class shows Friday.

2nd class arrived on Friday but the 48h one arrived Saturday.

If i had wanted them sooner i would have looked for 1st class listings etc, but it didnt bother me and they are still sitting there.

This is the problem, Royal Mail are failing on ebays tight delivery estimates

I had 7 marked as late last month

My Hermes get a bad flack but my late defects are running at under 1% because I use them for most items and upload tracking. The few I have are for Royal Mail large letters and one that I accidently put as 2nd class and sent by My Hermes.

Do ebay take weekends/bank holidays into account ?

Probably a glitch but one listing said i could have it the next day. Fair enough if its 1st class post it may arrive the day after posting. But this was around 10pm that would have been some seller to get it here by the next day on that one.

I have ordered late afternoon and had items arrive the next day though and as a i buyer i have come to expect that
