British Gas Smart Meter Upgrde

Smart meters are a benefit to the suppliers. You only have to read the daily rubbish on here from a smattering of the UK who can be bothered to put their problem online. We quite like answering their posts if we can but usually a smart meter would eliminate the problem at source. Hengus once put a post on here about 2.25 million customers having problems with the suppliers getting there usage correct, where its obvious a smart meter would be the answer. I know I wont save a penny with my smart meters but hopefully the suppliers will run their businesses much better and cheaper and pass the savings onto me with lowered kwhr prices.
BG have been installing smart meters in my area for approx 8 years. I ve had smart meters for around 4 years and so far I ve not paid a penny for the privelidge and so I should nt as I dont benefit much at all personally. I ve no idea why eco 7s havent been included in the program so far, I know I ve not seen a smart set up for eco 7.
BG have recently aplied to OFGEM for a time of use smart meter tariff, which an eco 7 meter is, so maybe the answer lies in OFGEM licencing smarts for TOU tariffs. A smart TOU tariff looks to be a good thing if and when it comes out.They have run a trial in Northern Ireland where it was preferred amongst the people who trialed it.
