Pet Insurance Complaint - Advice needed

This situation is why Petplan, for one state , they will not confirm to you beforehand whether they will pay for treatment.
They do confirm to an enquiry made direct by the vet where the full details of the condition and treatment can be discussed.
However, this is done by the underwriters , not the call centre.0 -

OP, please confirm the animal won't be left to suffer while a complaint goes through?0 -

Yes, we are waiting confirmation of the results from the MRI etc and the treatments will be started as soon as the vet is happy. We are very lucky that we have known our vet for a long time and he has already agreed to carry on the treatments whilst we sort out the finance and he has agreed to cap the operation at £3000. to put our minds at ease.Save 12K in 2017 #023 = £1345/ £6000 (22.41%)

Have you got anything in writing from the vet confirming a different course of treatment would have been carried out if you had been given the correct advice?
No, but I think he would be happy to provide this if it would help.Save 12K in 2017 #023 = £1345/ £6000 (22.41%)

Hello all,
Sorry for late reply. So the FOS were really helpful but as expected they agreed that the insurers had righted their wrong by paying the outstanding £900.
Overall, even though we didn't actually gain anything from going to the FOS I was really impressed by the service and the explanation we received was excellent.
Thanks for all the advice given before, I think emotions were running high when I first set the thread up so apologies if I was short with anyone.
Dog is doing well at the moment, but may need further operations in the coming year. Will be looking into interest free credit cards for the future treatments.
Thanks again for all the help.
