Morning all.
Back in Devon and he's still moaning. He can't see why I've changed my mind about going to Mom's funeral. She has caused me so much heartache over the years and the fact she hated him. The fact I'm the black sheep who walked away from all the drama she caused me hasn't helped either. Anyway he's not going to the funeral. In fairness he said he would if I wanted him to but since my children have been more support than he has I've told him to go to work. He left me to cope alone when my daughters remains were interred so I know I can cope with the love of my children.
On a lighter note. Half the remains of my takeaway has been savaged out the bin. I'm just hoping we don't get a bowel explosion later.
Thanks for letting me moan.
Onwards and forwards
Have a great day allThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Judi my condolences to you and your family You were there for her when she needed you and that's what you must think of, irrespective of what anyone else thinks Its was your Mum and your choice to do what you have.
The woman who gave you life is gone, and you will live on. There are parts of you that are your Mums and will be with you all of your life .She is at peace and the pain and hurting is for those who are left.
Just try to be kind to yourself and ignore anything else honey These things too will pass
Well chums so much sadness around this week Gers on her way to her nephews funeral,Candlelight with her OH's worries, and Hester battling bureaucracy and nmlc's sons young friend. Far too young to be taken. life seems to go in cycles at times doesn't it.
My friend who comes to the quiz night her DD had an awful accident last week but she was so lucky to get out relatively unscathed apart from a few bruise.Totally turtled her car but managed to scramble clear from it. Daft accident caused by a badly parked car on a bend which spun her round and turned the car on its roof, she was in third gear and apparently not going that fast her airbag didn't go off which apparently it would if the car was travelling more than 25 mph.Just an ordinary day and a lady going to collect her kids from school, and in the space of a few seconds everything changes. But that is what life is about.
I never take anything for granted and will always tell my DD I love them as I go out the door or if I'm on the phone. Life can be so cruel at times but also so wonderful when things go right A new baby, job, promotion, we have all had great times and sad times .Mostly one outweighs the other thank goodness.
Well today where I am, the sun is shining, and the sky is blue, and I have just stripped and changed the bed and have stuck the washing machine on.
I will make some celery soup this morning and maybe a cake for my eldest DD who is coming to visit me this afternoon. No shopping really to warrant going across to the shops today nothing that can't wait until next week.I will possibly do my menus this morning as well as I am away on holiday from the 15th of this month so I want to use up what I have in the fridge as much as I can.
I am out on Sunday to dinner and on Tuesday night and all day Wednesday so not too many meals need to be sourced this week:)
I have worked it out I only have seven dinners to think about in the next fortnightso no a lot of shopping needed . last night I dug a couple of things from the freezer which I had forgotten about and it turned out to be two lamb burgers which I had with salad and a couple of wrinkly mushrooms on top of a wrap from the freezer .It really was nice and a bit of a different meal cobbled together from odds and ends really. Tonight I will have from the freezer a tiny bit of steak and a couple of chilli sausages that I found at the bottom of the freezer with some mashed potato and green beans also from my freezer. No idea how long they have been in suspended animation in there but it looks OK and smells OK so fingers crossed it will be OK
:):)
Hope everyone has a good day and where ever you are the sun shines down on you. <<hugs >> to those who need them and smiles for the rest of you

We are back from the dentist, it took him ages. OH had not come back to the car by 10.30 so I walked to the dentist. He had just come out. The tooth had broken very near the gum and was very fragile.
Home, painkillers and some soup and then he went for his siesta, he was asleep for over an hour. I managed to piece 3 blocks whilst he was asleep, one of them I had to take to pieces, I got 2 pieces the wrong way round and did not notice!!
It rained until lunch time, but its fair now, sun shining......looks like being a nice afternoon.0 -

Judi (((HUGS))) m'dear.
We're out this evening ("The Marriage of Figaro" at MK Theatre) so I hope Jack's going to be a good boy. He should be fine; he's used to "guarding the house" and he'll have his dins and a comfort break before we go.
Mr LW has ironed a decent shirt for the occasion, and selected the cufflinks I bought him when we visited Orkney a few years back. I shall probably dig out my black velvet dress, as it'll be chilly later. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
JUDI i'm so sorry about your Mum, and also that your OH isn't being v supportive when you need it
It's not been the best week here. My girly pooch who's 13.5 has had a stroke, but is still quite lively n eating ok.It's just weird that she's not as feisty
The ex has just finished the coast to coast cycle ride for charity, n ended up in Sunderland
I'm having a chilled evening, with the tv n pooches.Ttfn xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I got the bus in to York and saw dd, treated her to a coffee and bought her some fruit to take home and a few bits and bobs.
M and S had a special offer on beef so I treated us to a big joint for tomorrow as dds and sil are coming for lunch.
I saw that H***ers were having an online sale and found their clearance section - I now seem to have two new pairs of sandals and one pair of slippers arriving next week  or maybe :j as last year's sandals are a disgrace.
Middle dd is coming round tonight for a snack before she goes out for a drink with friends so will be staying over. Hope she is impressed by the changes made so far re lighting and new fire etc.
