If a prize holiday is for 2 people and spending money is thrown in, does the spending money only go to the person who entered? Or do the comp runner split the spending money?

Generally I would expect it to go the named winner but depends on the T&C specifics.0

I agree it should go to the one who entered. Just thinking ahead of myself here as sometimes the spending money isn't really enough for 2 so think if I ever win it, I don't think it's unfair to keep the spending money to myself.0

Split down the middle or maybe none for me :-)0 -
Why not just use the spending money for things for both of you e.g meals, trips, souvenirs. If I won and invited someone along, I would split the spending money too rather than keeping it to myself. It is a bit like when people ask someone to be a bridesmaid to their wedding and then ask them to pay for the bridesmaid dress and shoes etc - I've never understood that.0

hi, usually the person who entered,
the ones I've won have been in my name though I
have sharedplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
With a partner, everything is naturally shared anyway but I don't have one of those
so any trips for two or more people will be with friends.
Depends on how much spending money there is though. Say there was $100 for a week in New York, this will not stretch far so I don't think it is entirely unreasonable for me to want that to myself as the trip would be a treat to the friend (for not having actually done anything). This is all hypothetical though as I have not actually won any trips yet.0 -
*If* I were taking a friend away on a trip I'd won, I would definitely expect that friend to bring their own spending money as, like you say, they had got the trip for free anyway! I'm not sure I would even mention the fact that the promoter had thrown in any spending money0

I agree with cagsd. I wouldn't bother mentioning spending money at all, i'd just tell them that I've won a holiday and can take a friend, they just need their own spending money. If that friend complained in any way, shape or form, I would politely tell them to !!!!!! off and take someone who will be a bit more grateful that I'm giving them a free holiday
If I won a decent amount of spending money (say £2000), i'd happily cover some of the meal and transport costs while over there but I wouldn't tell them about it beforehand.0 -
I think if I invited a freind I would decide before hand what i would use the money for, especially if it was a low amount like $100. That to me is probable going to go on cabs or maybe I would book theatre tickets or museum entries if they where not included. I wouldn't use it just for myself because i would feel uncomfortable that they are spending for something I'm technically getting for free. However I would not give them half the money, because I won the prize I feel like I get to decided where it gets spent, I would be open for suggestions but the end decision would be mine.0
