It depends what's included say a low amount of spending money and no transfers. That amount may just cover that
always read t and c though

It's true that any friend don't need to know about it, so I was just wondering who the comp runner gives the spending money to, whether they give the full amount to the person who entered or they split it equally with whoever is going. If they did split it equally, it'll be a bit awkward for me to ask a friend to give me their spending money!
Even if the spending money was £2k, to be honest I would want more than 50% if I were to share. I would feel a bit of injustice for me to get exactly half/equal for having been the one who actually entered and (presumably) being the one whose name that the flight/accommodation & other stuff that comes with the prize is under and therefore me being the one having to print and hold all paperwork and being main organiser.
Gosh, I really am thinking ahead! But I am in the process of deciding with a friend where to holiday and who will do what tasks. I got back from a hol with a different friend a month ago and everything was left entirely down to me, from booking and even being the one to hold the hotel card whenever we are out.0 -
In my experience money is paid to the prize winner, which is why I always give my correct name as it is usually a cheque.total wins 2013 £5500 2014 £7500 2015 £23,900 2016 £10,650 2017 £13,040 2018 £10,620 2019 £10,115 2020 £3970.00

When I won a trip to Malta with spending money, they checked ahead of time with me if I wanted it in euros or pounds. I went with euros and they handed it to me in cash on the transfer bus.
I then split it 50/50 with my friend who I brought along so we had €100 each for the 3 days that we were there; I wanted us both to have a good time without worrying about moneyStarted 30/08/2011Biggest Wins: GHD's, 5* Trip to London, VIP Trip to Isle of MTV Festival in Malta.
Thanks so much to all who post0 -
This has got to be one of the oddest questions ever :rotfl::rotfl:
If you win a holiday with spending money then the win belongs to you and you get to choose who your companion is so you get to choose what you do with all components of the win.
Whether you choose to let the person you invite know the full extent of your win or not is your decision.
When I've won holidays they have mostly not included spending money but whether they did or not the person I travelled with tended to offer to pay for me for some things (eg pick up a meal bill or pay for coffees or taxis ) as a gesture of appreciation for inviting them .....but then I wouldn't invite anyone to join me who had the attitude "Well she got it for free anyway" . Perhaps IF you win that's the time to think who you'd invite based on their general attitude to life and not pick someone who thinks they'd be doing you a favour by going with you
Not sure I understand what is so demanding about holding onto a few bits of paperwork though ! However picking the right person to take is very , very important as you'll be in each other's pockets for a week at least and you REALLY get to know someone when you holiday with them LOLI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

You don't have to invite someone to go with you on the trip. Why not go by yourself then you don't need to worry about whether to or not give away some of the money you've won or having to feel awkward because you want to ask for it back.
A holiday (particularly a free one with free spending money ) should be relaxing not stressful0 -
When i first went out with my now husband,i won a trip to USA with spending money and he thought we'd split it.. me being tight old me told him no way.
Even now I pocket the money I win if its part of a prize, I'm a mean squirrel. Also I spend hours comping to win what I do.
We are now debt free (other than mortgage and student loans) and live a very comfortable life because of my religious following of Martin Lewis' advice.Top wins in 2018: Trip to Iceland, helicopter ride over london, couples massage, £300 flight from Pringles, trip to Paris, cocktail making class and afternoon tea up the shard. .
Top wins in 2017:holiday to the Bahamas, trip to Paris, meal with champagne, a week in a manor house in France with £500 spending money.0
