Missed a NEXT payment - Can it be fixed?

Hi all.
A work colleague's credit record has no missed payments apart from one with NEXT. This happened three months ago and this person is concerned that this will affect his application for a mortgage within the next twelve months. Can I ask is there anything that can be done about a missed payment on your credit record?

It depends what you mean by missed. A day or so late or not paid for a whole month?

Bring it up to date asap, check all three credit files to see what they say, and throw themselves at Next's mercy to see if they will remove it.

It is likely to cause problems for an imminent mortgage but the impact will lessen with time. Obviously the better everything else is - big deposit, good history of using and repaying credit, on electoral roll and a stable job the better.
