Moving a manhole?

Hello thanks in advance for any help

We have a scruffy flat roof extension on the rear LHS of our bungalow which we want to knock down and put up something proper in brick and a bit bigger.

Under the floor of this extension is a manhole though, which obviously I wouldn't want to be under the floor of the new nice extension we want to build.

is it difficult or onerous to move this manhole? The way it runs isoff to the left to a shared manhole with next door. There is room on my driveway to the left of the bungalow to resite it.

Can it be done?

It depends which way the pipes run! But the short answer is yes.

I would suggest that you would need to identify where each pipe comes from and too, into your manhole first. Draw it out.

Then for example if the drain from your house connects at right angles to the main run then you would have to figure out how to connect the pipe to the main run at a point downstream of the current manhole. As a guess you wouldn't be able to form a new connection upstream because the pipe from your house would become too shallow and not self cleanse.

Keeping any new bends shallow will be key if it is a soil pipe
