Well, iirc, this is how it went:

Me: Hello, I was wondering if I could add Caller Display for free to my service package please?
TT: I'm afraid we can't do that.
Me: Oh, ok. It was just that I was reading Martin Lewis' MSE the other day, and saw that another customer who uses the forums there had been able to get it when they asked. (Was preparing to say "thank you anyway" and end the call.)
TT: Ok, we'll let you have it as well.
Me: Brilliant! Thank you very much indeed!

I wasn't aggressive or demanding (I hope), I was just enquiring. But, yeah, I know what you mean about quoting sites like this to companies, BexTech. Although I think Martin did give them an honourable mention before through one of his articles in this case, which might have helped.

TT: You now have free caller display. It's all done for you is there anything else I can help you with?
