replacing me with partners wife

This may be complicated so please bear with.
I have been empliyed 18 months for company with 2 partners. I work in town A for one partner and other partner runs office in town B.
The company is merging with another company to form a new partnership. Office B is closing and partner from town B is moving to my branch. His wife works at town B office.
the company we are merging with also have a branch in town B and I have been told I have to go and work in this branch so the partners wife can come to my branch with her husband. She is no more qualified than me, we all have the same job titles. This means driving to work instead of walking as I do now although I have been ofdered some travel expenses. I have been told there is a job at town B or no job!
I am extremely upset that even thiugh our branch is not closing and my job still exists I am being replaced and pushed into another branch.
any advice? ?

Look for a new job?
Would seem to be your only other option.0 -
Less than 2 years employed means they can do pretty much whatever they want to.0

Ok thanks for that!?
I am looking for another job but its the principle of the situation. If she wasn't married to the partner I wouldnt have to relocate.0 -
Write a nasty letter to George Osborne, as he's the one who took away your employment rights.
You're in a pretty crap situation. Perhaps they are hoping you will quit. In American they call it 'freeway therapy'Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
How far is it? If it's a 'reasonable' distance then (2 year rule aside) I doubt there is anything you can do and I think you are actually extremely lucky to be getting expenses. It will be your normal place of work so usually no extra expenses paid.
It's not ideal but equally it isn't their fault where you live.0 -

They own the company - they want to work together - they are offering you some compensation which they don't need to do.
If you owned the company, would you put an employee's wants above your own?0 -

She doesn't own the company. He is a partner not her.
