Yeah this is the sad reality. Since she is the wife, you can't do anything. If you don't like where you are, find another job. I know lots of company doing this even the person in the position is not fit.

Even if she wasn't the wife, the OP couldn't do anything. If the company owners want to move staff around between offices, that's their decision.

She doesn't own the company. He is a partner not her.
anyway I get the point. Thanks for the brutal honesty. I shall get my head out of my a**e and man up!

Ha ha, thanks for the mature reply (no sarcasm intended, I mean it) - and just sorry that we don't, as a board, have better news for you.

The really bad news, in case it isn't clear from the posts above, is that if it's a 'reasonable distance' to the new office (very poorly defined but generally further than you would expect), you wouldn't have much in the way of rights even if you did have 2 years' worth of employment rights - unless your contract of employment is very specific about your base, and very vague about the 'any other duties as required' bit. And even then you would probably only be entitled to a miniscule redundancy payment. Probably better to keep the job and start looking.........
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
