DFS No Refunds

Hello,
Just looking for a bit of advice here, I bought a sofa in September from DFS in store in Belfast, paid cash and within 6 months it has had to be repaired three times. I let it slide the first two times, but on the third occasion was obviously not happy and requested a refund. I was told that they do not do refunds as all their sofas are made to order. Are they within their rights to not offer a refund?
Thanks

Within the first 6 months the retailer has the right to repair, refund or replace the goods but it is up to them to choose which, on the other hand, is this exactly the same fault 3 times over or 3 separate faults?0

Their stance that they do not do refunds because the items are made to order is wrong.
Just ask them to put their stance in writing. They'll either backtrack on what they've said or at the very least, you'll have proof that they're misleading consumers about their rights.
Thats not to say a refund definitely is due here - it would be for you to argue that they've had more than enough attempts to repair - that they were unable to do it within a reasonable time or that they were unable to do it without causing significant inconvenience. But they shouldn't be saying they don't do refunds.
Even signs saying "no refund unless faulty" are illegal and prohibited. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
