Mr Gnome is better at eb@y than me but I think he does need to review the contents of the garage again. The M&S shop sounds good especially for £13. Have a good weekend.

    PAYDAY has arrived early :j:j:j
My salary is showing in the bank account already, it shows the transaction date of the 31 May, but it is there. So doing all my calculations this morning and a few money shuffles.
Normally I do a Tilly Tidy on pay day to round my current account to nearest £10, however if I do that (£6.40) this would put my O&S account at £291.46. I am tempted to put the additional
£ 8.54 in to round it up to £300, but this breaks my Tilly Tidy rules and will make my current account "odd". But what the hell, live dangerously, they are my rules to be broken:D
And so drum roll ......the May 0&S account total is.....£180.89 ......and £300 in total for April and May. Not bad for what has been a really tight month.

M&S shop was fab yesterday, a total of £52.10 of shopping, £20.62 off in offers and promotions and the £16.00 off in loyalty vouchers - total paid £15.48 !

And so I am going to be Eb@ying this weekend - thanks Try Harder for your tips and LG for your ongoing encouragement. Hope you manage to peel the Xbox controls out of your boys' hands this week :rotfl:

Sounds really good ,i wish we were paid monthly unfortunately we are paid daily so its much more difficult and the money seems to slip through my fingers. You are doing great
  • Super MSE shop at M&S, well done. I always spend a fortune if I go in the food hall!

Try Harder - I can't imagine being paid daily that must be really tricky to manage and budget. I would definitely need a spreadsheet:rotfl:

ETE - I only tend to shop there if I have a voucher and I try to buy all the deals, 3 meats for £10, meal deal etc, otherwise it can be a bit  The rest of the time I shop in H@me B@rgains and Ald@. From one extreme to the other eh :rotfl:

Anyway I am up early on a Sunday morning so am fiddling with my spreadsheets ( what else !)
I don't really focus on my mortgage much ( bit bizarre given this is MFW), but our interest rate is only 1.19% so I don't overpay but save into higher rate savings accounts.
However our mortgage is going down too because part of it has a repayment element. When I started my MFW journey in Jan 2015, our mortgage was £271,751  and it is now down to £259,272. Still  but better. In fact £12,479 paid off in 15 months. So the mortgage will continue to reduce over my 4 year target period and hopefully my saving will increase to get us to a less scary figure.

Morning all, on route to London so thought I would use the time productively. So here are the May figures:
    • Paid into regular savers £1150
    • Paid into O&S account £180.89
    • Total in savings £35,622.02
So although I have exceeded my saving target this month and saved a total of 1330.89, overall my savings have decreased to £35,665.02 (from £363666.91) because we paid a £4K builders bill.
Anyway hopefully back on track and by the end of June savings should exceed £37k and my next target is £40k by the end of August. The mortgage stands at £259,272, so a long way to go.
I also have £120 worth of M&S vouchers and £15 Amazon vouchers stacked up for Christmas.

In other news I have listed 10 items on fleabay and 5 of them have multiple watchers so fingers crossed I get some good sales. Have a good week everyone.

I know it's frustrating when savings dip but it's a heck of a lot better than having to borrow. Overall those figures look good. Plus you have Christmas under control in May:j
    Good luck with Fleabay.
