The OH has gone down to the "big smoke" early this morning and DS is at work, so I have the house to myself..bliss. I am working from home today and have taken a cheeky cup of tea back to bed and I catching up on some diaries. I am feeling slightly broken this morning as I have done tough gym classes two days running.
Nothing MSE to report, after a flurry of activity of setting up accounts, direct debits and standing orders I now just need to wait for the interest and cash back to arrive.....might go into town later to get my fixed rate ISA passbook updated with the annual interest, just because I can ! This feels so old- fashioned though.
Need to get up and start work soon...

I know what you mean about the passbooks. I took our kids in last week to get updated, just because I can!

Great progress by the way, we also have multiple current accounts (2 TSB, 2 tesco, 3 halifax, 1 nw, and we have a donor account that has been doing the roads to sweep up switch bonuses).
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

    MFiT-T6 #13 - £3,517 of £15,500 (22.69%)
    1% Mortgage Challenge 2022 - £157.59 of £650

Impressive stuff Jimmy - it was you that inspired me to start playing the banks. I have been itching to do this and just been waiting for the PSA.
I have two donor accounts ( 1 each) that are now oven ready. I just don't know whether to go for the straight £100 switch bonus or to wait and see if anything better comes on. I think I will wait given I have opened loads of accounts in a short space of time and it might give my credit rating a bit of breather. I actually plan to try and get 2 switches in this year ending on FD, which will give me another regular saver @ 6% for next year

    It's Friday !!!
I have managed to get through the week at work and only spent £3.00 yesterday on car parking for work, which I can claim back on my expenses.
I have ordered some new running trainers which have arrived - reduced from £89.99 to £39.99. I went to a specialist running shop last week and had my feet and gait assessed and got advice on which trainers I need. Felt a bit guilty that I didn't buy any from them but they were all really expensive... But did buy insoles and left them a great review on Facebook . If I am going to pound the pavements I had better protect my joints
The big news is that my DD has got her first full time job. She went for her first interview on Wednesday and got it ! She is just 4 week weeks away from handing her final dissertation in so this will focus her mind - she hasn't got a start date yet but hopefully it will all tie in. This is exciting news for her but also for us too, after funding first her brother and then her through university for the last 7 years - we will have no one on the payroll but us !
The only slight worry is that she can't find all her exam certificates - they were in a special folder that appears to have gone missing when she moved out. Think she might have to apply for replacements
I am hoping to get into town today to get the interest on my ISA passbook updated, but other than that no extra interest or cash back to report.

So didn't manage to get into town yesterday to get passbook updated - that little treat will have to wait for another day.
The good news is that I did find DDs certificates "filed" in a carrier bag with a load of other random stuff at the back of her wardrobe. Big relief, was going to cost £42 to replace each certificate and take up to 28 days....ironicly the interview panel were very impressed with her organisational skills

I am off to do Park Run this morning, so will be a broken mess for the rest of the day unless my new trainers work some sort of magic....

I did Park Run yesterday - this is my 4th and it is getting easier. Although you wouldn't have thought so when a man pushing a double buggy containing 2 large toddlers in it ( not even babies)passed me running up the hill. To be fair there are all ages and abilities who do Park Run which makes it such a nice event. The new trainers were great, much better on the knees running downhill, so money well spent.
The food shopping was done this morning and I spent £76 in various TSB contactless transactions, I have spent £100 using contactless on my card and I am now working on OHs. That will be £5 each cash back at the end of the month. I have also done the regular Sunday Tilly Tidy - this week's is £9.53.

I signed up for Bounts yesterday so I need to go for a walk to make sure I get my 7000 steps in today, but that is no hardship - it is a lovely sunny day today.:j

Monday morning and no work as I have a friend staying. We have a shopping trip planned today so unlikely to be very MSE.

£30 cash back received from the MSE Energy club big switch, which has been duly transferred to the odds and sods account :j I love free money:D
