I have just found this thread, thought stray kitten was current until I had the wit to read the whole thing. What a marvellous story! She is so beautiful (and so lucky to have found you) and you write so well it is almost as if I were there, I can practically hear her trilling at you.

I do so hope you don't mind my butting in, I know some threads seem to be "no newbies allowed" but am so glad I did as I would have worried about kitten until I knew she was OK.

We saved one once, a boy who looked just like the black and white cat on a well-known brand of cat food. He was about five months old and in much better condition than pickle but clearly without a home as neighbours had been out on their bikes, knocking on doors for days, making enquiries. Found one house, kids said, yes, they had lost a black and white cat, mother denied it utterly... we took him in, current incumbent boy cat went ape, would not come in except to eat for days, threatened to leave home. We had friends who were looking for a pet, preferably a dog but I persuaded them to come and meet him and they fell in love within seconds. Said they had better go and buy him food/tray/bowls/litter so I presented them with the "starter pack" I had prepared earlier containing all these things and his blanky besides. I just had a feeling...

Thanks again for this story, what lovely people you and your OH must be.

Your more than welcome smodlet X

Thank you for your kind words.
We very much had no choice lol. The old couple who tried to take her in are lovely and they have a black and white cat now who is being spoilt. Madam wanted to live with us and her purple blanket tho lol.

Thank you Melly, very much appreciated. I know I have 150 posts and 8 years but truly, have only been posting for three or four weeks and am still finding my way around (still can't post pics to save my life but I am useless with technology)

I think your OH has a point. Once a small, furry person of the feline persuasion has decided you are his/her subject, resistance is futile.

Thank you again for the kind welcome and the lovely story.

Her and tomcat have a very complicated relationship.
    They are either kissing (pickles)
    Or
Smacking in the face (er pickles)

We also have a chrome oven, tomcat has always admired his beauty in it, just caught madam kissing her reflection lol

OH said about "parking" them somewhere but I have some dumb kind of phobia... I'm a technophobe. I will get him to show me; 77, 78 times should do it:rotfl:

We had a big, black, not-too-bright black not-tom cat once who absolutely preened in this mirror that propped against a wall while we decided where to put it.

Thank you again for the welcome. I can't believe some people are so proprietorial about threads. Not MSE, from what I've read in the rules/etiquette but hey. So happy to make your acquaintance, Lady Melly.
