 I phoned The Link.co.uk regarding a faulty phone(been away twice for repair).
Its been with the Tech Guys for almost 8 weeks. I wanted to get a refund as it was bought as a b/day gift in Feb 07.
I was told the warranty is with the repair agents or the manufacturer and not with the link. I believe this to be untrue.
I pointed out that I bought the phone from 'The Link' not from the manufacturer or repair agent but they refuse to budge.
Last week the tech guys told me that Currys? would phone me about a replacement, I'm not to phone Currys but to wait until I was contacted. Still waiting.
Now I'm told go directly to Currys get them to phone tech guys for an authorisation code to get a replacement.
what happened to the excellent Link customer service.

I had a almost identical issue with a phone i bought from argos.
I broke when it was 2 months old, arogs sent it away to get fixed, wasnt any better so away to get fixed again, still not working.
Called nokia directly who told me to take it to the carphone warehouse as they are the authorised nokia repairer. Did this a further 4 times, still no better.
Called nokia back who said that carphone warehouse would replace it for me, as they were the authorised people.
CW refused.
So nokia suggested i send the phone straight to their repair centre, cant remember its name.
Less than a week later, i got a package back with a brand new phone and a note saying they decided to replace it as although they couldnt find the fault, id obviously had enough hassle already.
Apparently a phone should be attempted to be repaired 3 times, after this you should get a replacement. Although i should add this is only for nokias as far as i know.
If it is a nokia phone, let me know and i'll dig out the address and number of the repair centre.0
