Does anyone have a power pack for their chair (or researched them)? Are the cheaper ones as good as the more expensive and do they make much difference?

I looked into it a few years ago so this might be out of date.
The cheap ones tend to be rubbish, anything you can "quick install at home" isn't worth looking at. The one I tried drained really quickly and was on a lightweight chair with only 8 stone me in it.
The "quality" ones are dear and hard to get hold of.
I ended up going for easy glide wheels which take the effort of propelling out but aren't a "power" solution.
If your wheelchair is NHS make sure wheelchair services know you're making adaptions before you make any changes as some health authorities don't allow power add ons or wheel changes to their chairs.0
