EasyJet flight. Getting a Credit Note for cancellation due to Illness

We have flights with EasyJet booked to Portugal and back in May for my wife and myself. Unfortunately my wife has suffered a blood clot that precludes her from flying for 6 months. I am still intending to take the flights. What i am trying to find out is if anyone has any experience of trying to get a refund from Easy Jet for one person on the booking being unable to fly, What information might they require. We would only be asking for a credit note and not a refund. It is not worth an insurance claim as the excess is roughly the same as the amount she paid for her flight. Is it worth trying to get a credit note or are we wasting our time.are they sympathetic to such request due to illness. I have flown with Easy Jet several times previously but have never had to cancel Any feedback on this subject will be welcome and appreciated..

Best wishes for your wife's speedy recovery.
I suspect you'll be wasting your breath trying to get anything from EJ
You can get the tax back, if it's worth it but I'd be tempted to check her in as normal and enjoy the extra seat roomChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
Unless things have changed recently you can make a change to an alternative flight (via Manage my Booking) but believe this has to be done before departure and to a flight no more that x months in the future
No facility for deferment or credit note outside of this
Have a play with your booking online and see what it lets you do ?0 -
Yes, I have had a credit from Easy Jet to use within a year. My husband was diagnosed with cancer and I had been due to fly the day he was coming home from op. Easyjet asked for discharge form to be copies to them. I really rate them for the absolute help they were.1

Easyjet will issue a voucher if the cancellation is due to exceptional circumstances. Even when it's down to being diagnosed with a serious illness credits are at their discretion.0

Won't you be covered by your travel insurance?0

I've cancelled flights with Easyjet before (not for any serious medical/good reason as far as they were concerned) and found them to be very helpful. They offered a change of flight, or credit towards another flight (minus. £40 fee) I thought this was very good as I had expected I would just lose all the money. I'd give them a ring and see what they say I think they are open till 8pm.0

I stand corrected, I've not cancelled with EJ before, I presumed theyd be no different to the rest of them.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

I changed my flight last year as I had to return a day early due to illness. I was able to change it but the admin charge was was as expensive as a new flight. OK I didn't tell them the reason for the change because I didn't think it would make any difference.0
