Warning about survey Peanut labs 5943257 - about breakdown cover. I filled in all the details and made it to the end of the survey bar - they thanked me and then I got a screen out 1 SB - luckily I had taken a screen shot showing the end.0

Just to warn others, there is a survey about breakdown cover on Peanut labs that screens out after you complete it.

Hi Loranius, Kippygolf
You probably already realise I know almost nothing about this sort of thing. I had no idea a smart phone could connect to my home wifi. Although now you mention it....if I knew how to use emoticons I would probably use the "embarrassed" one.
So if I only wanted to use it for running these apps (i.e. no phone calls) could I do that without even the cost of a contract?
I actually have a fairly old mobile (Nokia N73) on a PAYG contract which I only really have for emergencies. I should probably try to find out if it is smart enough to use for this sort of thing.
Thanks again!0 -

No embarrassment and no contract needed! My ZTE came with an EE sim, and I only run it on wifi. No costs other than a smidge of electricity to charge it.0 -

Have you asked your family or friends if they have an old smartphone? it needs to be android, not windows ( or iPhone, but they won't be giving this away!). just stick in an old sim card or a payg one , you don't need any credit on it. If you connect it to your WiFi you don't even need a sim card but obviously this gives you your mobile number which if you go for some of the other offers you would need (e.g app a day)Thanks, maybe this could be the excuse I've been waiting for to buy a smart phone.
But presumably there is a data usage cost. Do you have any idea what that comes to, or do you have a package which includes data on a "use it or lose it" deal, so it doesn't really cost you anything to use it for SBTV.
this way you could see how you get on before spending any money.0 -

Hi Ian,
You don't even need to put in a SIM to run your phone on wifi. Your home broadband or work broadband would usually have a password on the wifi so all you have to do is select the correct wifi network, input the password and you would be connected.
However, it's worth getting a free o2 sim card from their website and then you can download o2 priority moments and get all those freebies going around
